   SEBRIX-9

   My name is Karlie Lynn Destat. I am the daughter of High Council Cabinet Member, Tarssin Destat of The New Order Empire. That is what I keep telling myself.

   My beginnings…

   My beginnings are not like any other. It is said that I am one of a kind. A prodigy of a failed experiment turned successful…my project, to be more precise. I exist because of a conscious decision to exist in this version of myself.

   Let me explain and go back to the beginning…

   Sebrix was a project which I spearheaded for the IBI. It was to break ground on the possibility of teleportation. That is the means of transporting a mass from one point to another by means of transmitting all of that matter's structure by means of digitization.

   That aspect of the project failed as it is impossible to break down matter into energy and reform it as the original by mere transmission.

   Simply put. It is impossible to teleport any mass of living tissue and have it be whole upon restructuring.

   But what is possible is transmitting the complete data of the mass from point 'A' and have a duplicate manufactured at point 'B'.

   What does this have to do with me? I was the last and complete full version manufactured at point 'B'. I am an exact duplicate of the original that was copied from point 'A'.

   I am the only Karlie Lynn Destat in this Universe.

   There were 8 previous attempts and progressively they were said to be perfect. In fact; they were all perfect. One after another they were created like me, memories infused and then I terminated them.

   I say this because that memory of me ordering their termination is also mine now.

   I can also say they were experimented to limits beyond that of known standards. They were tested, pushed ..tortured in fact. No, those memories of the 8 I had put to extremes are not part of my memory…just the original memories outside the 8. Their memories are stored, kept safe in the mainframe of the Central Intelligence vault. I, with all of my clearances then and now; cannot access those memories the 8 replicants of me suffered through.

   This now bring the spotlight on why I exist and no one else, including the original Karlie Lynn Destat.

   During the 6^th duplicate and experimentation on variables to see if enhansements and defects could be filtered out and still maintain the main frame of the original..something was discovered. Something was finaly cured.

   The means of existing free of the virus Midiclorean was found. A cure. A means of living free as an individual and not in a symbiotic relationship with the virus Midiclorean.

   I am free of any will of the force by which the virus exists and claims over its host.

   In fact, the virus Midiclorean in all of its known strains cannot survive in my system. At least not long enough to influence my thoughts or reproduce.

   All that which I ingest, breathe or even intravenously introduce the infection; it dies within my body. My antibodies have the key to recognize, capture and destroy the virus within me.

   I can say this with scientific and medical proof.

   The 7^th and 8^th versions of me suffered greatly during all extreme experimentations to verify this conclusion.

   It was then decided after all those experiments on the 8 previous replicants, that a 9^th duplicate was to be manufactured. The perfect me. The perfect version of Karlie Lynn Destat.

   As I, Sebrix-9…became conscious of all of Karlie Lynn's memories. I now remember as Karlie, closing my eyes as I Sebrix-9 opened them.

   That last memory was of Karlie dying and me becoming Karlie.

   It is a memory more haunting than the decisions I remember making during these experiments of my previous selves. The last thought of myself to me, was-
